This day in history from:

Merry Christmas to one and all!

A Reading from the Letter of Paul to the Philippians (2:6-11)

Though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
something to be grasped.

Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
coming in human likeness;
and found human in appearance,

He humbled himself,
becoming obedient to death,
even death on a cross.

Because of this,
God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
of those in heaven and on earth
and under the earth,
and every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God
the Father.

This day in history from:

The fifth

I have to post something today, despite the blog blackout, which is, unfortunately, still in effect.

Five years ago on this day, I started this corner blog, on my own corner of the web.

It has been a bumpy, but fulfilling ride. At the time I was blogging daily, you have been privy to my day, with all my thoughts, hopes, feelings, ups, downs and sideways events that came with it.

I do hope I can do it again someday: to be as transparent to the web as I was then. But until all of the events that triggered the blog blackout are resolved, that full transparency shall never return, even if I do get to regularly blog again.

To tell you the truth, I really do miss blogging everyday. But I just can't for now.

So in the meantime, I wish you all a great weekend and here's to a great holiday season for all of us.

Other than this, I'm taking the fifth... (get it?)

Side Prayers

PRAYER FOR GENEROSITY
Lord Jesus,
Teach me to be generous,
Teach me to serve You as You deserve
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labor and not to ask for reward,
except that of knowing
That I do Your Holy Will. Amen

THE LAWYER'S PRAYER
May every word I speak be from Your Truth...
I ask come from Your Wisdom...
May every case I handle receive Your Guidance...
May every heart, every life I touch, feel Your Love.

THE JABEZ PRAYER
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,
"Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my territory,
that Your Hand be with me,
that You would keep me from evil,
that I may not cause pain."

So God granted him what he requested.

Side Oath

I will not wittingly or willingly
