Impact
And remember the "issue" of "national importance" I told you about involving a libel suit? Just blogged about it over at the Semper Fidelis site.
That's all for now...
PRAYER FOR GENEROSITY
Lord Jesus,
Teach me to be generous,
Teach me to serve You as You deserve
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labor and not to ask for reward,
except that of knowing
That I do Your Holy Will. Amen
THE LAWYER'S PRAYER
May every word I speak be from Your Truth...
I ask come from Your Wisdom...
May every case I handle receive Your Guidance...
May every heart, every life I touch, feel Your Love.
THE JABEZ PRAYER
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,
"Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my territory,
that Your Hand be with me,
that You would keep me from evil,
that I may not cause pain."
So God granted him what he requested.

question, atty punzi, with all this talk about libel going around and me probably guilty of it as well. I blogged something that was deemed libellous by atty. fred so i pulled it out pronto. can i still be taken to task for it?
Bambit,
Just hope that the one your writing attacked did not read it (or someone who knows him/her and then told it to the intended recipient).
The requisite of publication in libel is a simple of matter of the libelous remark reaching a third person. Hence, once published and read by a third person, you have no control. Besided, web contents are cached by search engines on a regular basis and hence your original publication could still be available.
There are, however, some Philippine cases that could argue the law of libel did not possibly contemplate publication through the internet, but this is uncertain ground.
You should have attended iBlog2 where this was discussed/lectured by La Vida Lawyer.
hi atty punzi, many thanks for the advice. I don't think I have to worry about my (pulled-out)post being cached, it was online for less than an hour before I pulled it out. The re-written post, now on my blog, is relatively tame compared to the original. Thanks for taking the time to answer :) and I've read the velveteen rabbit too, sayang nga lang because i've lost my second hand copy of the book... i had bought one years ago hoping I'd have a daughter to read it to. thanks for the link to the online version!
