This day in history from:

The 22nd...

This was supposed to be the 22nd visit... again a no-show.

It's a good thing, because Bea and I went to Greenhills to do some shopping. She got some girl-stuff (I really don't know what she got, she was with her grandmother...).

As for me, I go to Greenhills for the gadget stuff... almost bought an Xbox 360 (I didn't realize how low the prices are on these babies... and the Playstation 3 price is also dropping fast) and a new PDA... but I fought the urge to make these major purchases...

Instead, I got myself an iTrip, as I was getting sick and tired of my old FM transmitter. This was worked better. And at twice the price, it better work twice as well...

Tried shopping around for an enclosure for the spare 20Gb hard disk I salvaged from Britney. With her retirement, I just salvaged her for parts. But the one I tested did not work, indicating either incompatibility with the enclosures or the demise of that disk. I'll have the hard disk tested tomorrow...

Eventually ended up buying a UPS. To conserve battery cycles, I usually take out Scarlett's when I'm just plugged into the house current. But we have been experiencing trips and outages lately, corrupting some of my files. The UPS is supposed to solve these current problems.

I plugged Scarlett, the 500 GB external hard disk, the speakers and a study lamp. But I plan to buy another one for the DSL modem and router so my network would have a little bit of protection...

And BTW, I'm already at 6,238 songs on my new iPod... I can't believe it...

Here's to a good week ahead of us.

Side Prayers

PRAYER FOR GENEROSITY
Lord Jesus,
Teach me to be generous,
Teach me to serve You as You deserve
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labor and not to ask for reward,
except that of knowing
That I do Your Holy Will. Amen

THE LAWYER'S PRAYER
May every word I speak be from Your Truth...
I ask come from Your Wisdom...
May every case I handle receive Your Guidance...
May every heart, every life I touch, feel Your Love.

THE JABEZ PRAYER
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,
"Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my territory,
that Your Hand be with me,
that You would keep me from evil,
that I may not cause pain."

So God granted him what he requested.
