On the job training
I took out Al on a test choir practice last night. I have been playing the alto saxophone for almost a year and since the fingering was similar to the flute's, the transition was not as rough as with Clarry.
I have to admit, I got a little discouraged over at choir last night with Clarry because I bombed big time. But I have to persevere as Clarry's tone is more suited for choir than Al or Sophie.
But things turned around during the practice session when I tried Al out with some mass songs. Turns out that if properly played, Al can be used for choir. And I found out how far I have come in my saxophone playing as I can already play him soft, even in the high registers.
Now, it's just a matter of gathering more experience and I could play Al out for an entire mass, which could come sooner than later.
As regards Sophie, my skills with her is coming along, as it is similar with Al's, but I have a tendency to have more stray notes with her more than with Al. So I'll probably take Sophie out a little later.
In another front, we discovered Nico had an asthmatic attack for most of this week when I took him to his doctor yesterday. A couple of well placed meds and he's feeling (and sleeping) so much better now.
Anyway, this coming week is another good week of opportunities. And more and more, my goals are nearing completion for as long as I keep my focus and good disposition towards it. By the Law of Attraction, I am bound to get it one of these days...
