History Lessons
Unknown to many, I'm a history buff and I have always been interested in Philippine and world history.
As a matter of fact, I have made plans a while back for formal history graduate studies in case law school did not work out for me.
To a certain extent, however, I have gotten history lessons in my study of law, since law encapsules to the norm at the time it was established. Hence, the study of legal history is already a shortcut to the study of general history.
But how can be learn from history if we do not know is?
Sure, there are history classes that already bored the wits out of us because of lack of timing, irrelevance and unimaginative presentation.
But a current affairs television program from a historical perspective? That would be a better service to society than any formal history lesson.
Now, we can call such a program The Explainer.
And I hope Manolo continues such an approach to issues from this perspective. He's most qualified to.
Hope this program lasts. For all our sakes.
1 Objection(s):
Yes, Manolo, somehow that's at the back of my mind, too.
