Beating the Heat
I never really complained before about how hot it can be here during the summer season. I even used blankets when I nap in the middle of a hot summer day.
But the temperature this year has really become unbearable. I progressively found it hard to sleep soundly these days. And this is bearing down on my productivity.
So with some earnings I got yesterday, I managed to acquire an "air cooler" for my bedroom. This is different from an air conditioner because this air cooler evaporates water running from filter to cool the air coming out of it. It does not use refrigerants.
Of course you don't get the same results as an air conditioner but I'm not that hard to please. Electric fans cannot cut it because I just blows hot air in your face and the one I used was already very noisy. And while the cost of an air conditioner has come down, the cost electricity to power it hasn't. This solution is a healthy compromise and I slept soundly for the first time in a long time.
Anyway, I hope the good night's sleep I got will give me a boost. I have a lot of things to do. And the kids want to swim in the community pool tonight to beat the heat...
Here's to a great day!

eto ba yung bentilador na me box na nilalagyan ng yelo? he he pardon my ignorance, narinig ko lang..
Yes, Bing. Ice and water, actually.
Teka, so pano kung naubos yng ice? iinit na ulit yung "fan?"
I think I saw something like this (industrial grade) sa kids park sa me Tiendesitas.
Was interested in getting one for the house as well. How much do these things cost? And how adversly does it affect relative humidity in the place it's cooling (dami kse ako electronics)
@Carlo,
These things are relatively cheap, 3.5K but they run out quickly...
When the ice runs out, ice water pa rin and the water does not really heat up (at least from my experience).
The bigger ones cost about 10K.
But you're right, it may have an effect on the relative humidity of room. I keep the windows open, though, so it just equalizes the humidity in my room...
When I mean "run out," I mean "sold out."
